Cape Club of Sharon Hosts PGA Women's Golf Clinics

Massachusetts-based real estate developer Michael Intoccia has completed a wide array of successful development projects over his 30-year career, including luxury home subdivisions. Recently, Michael Intoccia began construction on a new five-star restaurant for the Cape Club of Sharon Country Club, where he also has built luxury homes near course holes 17 and 18.

Cape Club of Sharon recently was selected as one of the sites for the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Golf Clinics. This full-day golf training program for women will take place on 12 different dates in 2019 at golf courses throughout the nation.

The PGA women’s golf clinics are co-managed by Jane Blalock, who won the Ladies PGA Tour 27 times. With scheduled dates running from March through October, the full-day clinic is open to women of all skill levels who are interested in learning to play golf for social or business purposes. In addition to personalized instruction, the day-long clinics include a keynote speaker, breakfast and lunch, and a networking reception. The Cape Club of Sharon has been selected by PGA of America to host the clinic on two dates: June 3 and 29, 2019.

For more than 30 years, real estate developer Michael Intoccia has been at the helm of a number of luxury home and condominium developments. One of Michael Intoccia’s recent projects is the redesign of the Cape Club of Sharon in Massachusetts. 

One of the most attractive features of the Cape Club of Sharon is its championship golf course. Expansive and inviting fairways leading to cultivated greens create a picturesque feature that also provides a healthy challenge to golfers. The 50-year-old, par-72 course was overhauled in 2006 by famous course designer Craig Schreiner, who made the course one of the best in New England. 

Tees are available for any skill level, and PGA-certified instructors are onsite for golfers who want to improve their game. The club holds junior clinics regularly, and the Gateway to Golf program is available for new golfers who want to learn the game. The Cape Club golf course has hosted numerous championship events, and it is regularly rated one of the top courses in Massachusetts.

Cape Club of Sharon Lets Public Play on Golf Course for One Day

Born and raised in Dedham, Massachusetts, Michael Intoccia works as a real estate developer in nearby Sharon. Known as a developer of residential projects in the area, he worked on property owned by Spring Valley Country Club in Sharon. Michael Intoccia secured an investor in May 2016 and began renovations on the clubhouse in January 2017, at which point the club was renamed the Cape Club of Sharon. 

During phase 1, which finished in March 2017, the dining areas, conference room, members’ lounge area, and bridal suite received renovations. In addition, the outside of the building underwent vast improvements. Phase 2, which involves the construction of new buildings, begins in late 2017. The construction process includes building 52 townhomes, a fitness facility, and a five-star restaurant. 

In addition to the above amenities, the Cape Club of Sharon features a private golf course. In August 2017, as part of the Massachusetts Golf Association’s Member Days program, the course welcomed nonmembers to play competitive rounds. To participate, golfers needed to carry a handicap from an MGA member course and pay $80, which included the cost of golf, range balls, and cart.
