Real estate developer Michael Intoccia has completed scores of projects all around the state of Massachusetts over the past three decades. In his free time, he also enjoys a good game of golf. Out of his love of the game, Michael Intoccia played a part in the development of The Cape Club resort in Falmouth.
In addition to providing dining, event venues, and residential homes, The Cape Club is home to one of the best new golf courses in New England. The club opened in 2016 after being rebuilt over the Ballymead Country Club, and visitors might find playing golf on this 18-hole course an entirely new experience.
New tee boxes have been added, each hole has been fortified with silica Augusta-white sand bunkers, and the walkways were reshaped and widened. The greens, green approaches, and fairways were also improved using bentgrass.
Outside of the renovated grounds, the course also contains a practice facility that was moved near the clubhouse, to make dining, socializing, and playing golf more accessible. The club has also integrated distance-tracking technology that will allow players to keep track of their driving distance. In addition, owners have long-term plans for the practice facility’s improvement. A few things to look forward to include an upper deck with seating to allow visitors to dine, watch sporting events on flat-screen televisions, and socialize just a short distance away from the practice tees.
